Ali began her produce career as an administrative
assistant with Charlie’s Produce in 2016 and quickly
moved up to buyer. In the fall of 2017, she joined
Sprouts Farmers Market in the company’s new Bay
Area distribution center. But she missed Southern
California so jumped at the opportunity to join Bristol
Farms and Lazy Acres in 2019 and moved back south.
“Northern California wasn’t for me,” she quips.
At Bristol Farms she is part of the buying team
and loves the company’s concept of mixing up buying
responsibilities. “Right now, I am buying apples,
pears, grapes, citrus and potatoes. I absolutely love it.
It is like solving a different puzzle every day. I love
putting together the pieces.”
Ali says about 80 percent of the produce she purchases
is organic. “We try to purchase organic as
much as we can. That sector is growing every year.”
With 14 Bristol Farms and five Lazy Acres location,
both banners serve a discerning Southern California
customer.
