FPFC Dinner Dance Set for February 5th
The Fresh
Produce &
Floral Council
will hold
its annual Dinner Dance
at the The Langham Hotel
in Pasadena, CA, on
Saturday, Feb. 5, from 6
p.m. to 11 p.m.
The event, which will serve as the formal passing of
the gavel from outgoing Chairman of the Board Sean Mc-
Clure of Professional Produce to 2022 Chair Kori Martin
of The Oppenheimer Group, had to be cancelled last
year because of the coronavirus. FPFC President Don
Gann said the industry is very much looking forward to
the February Dinner-Dance as the kickoff of a full slate
of events for the new year. “In 2021, we came back cautiously
holding several events, always looking for an outdoor
component,” he said. “In 2022, we will have many
more events.”
Lynnie Nojadera, who is with Commerce, CA-based
Great West Produce Company, is the chair of this year’s
dinner-dance. She noted that the Langham Hotel venue in
Pasadena has been home to several FPFC dinner-dances
in the past and it has always received great reviews. This

year’s event is called “A
Speakeasy at the Langham
Pasadena” and will
attempt to revive the
ambiance of the Roaring
20s of a century ago.
In December, Nojadera
said the committee
was looking at several
options in which to infuse the events with some excitement,
along with its regular activities. The event will
feature a VIP Reception, as well as an opening reception
and dinner and dancing in the Langham Ballroom. The
event will also honor outgoing Chairman McClure and
welcome incoming Chair Martin.
“We will also have door prizes, a $20,000 raffle with
other cash prizes and a photo opportunity for guests,”
Nojadera said. “We are still working out all the details
but it’s going to be a great event. We look forward to seeing
everyone in person once again.”
The 2020 event was held in early February, right before
the coronavirus outbreak, which ended up being the
last indoor event the council could hold that year. The
FPFC is hoping this year’s event is the bookend that
marks the beginning of a new post-pandemic era.
