PHILLIP SAMPSON, Houston TX, was a three-year starter as quarterback on the Washington & Lee University football team and also held, at least as of when he graduated, indoor and outdoor school pole vaulting records. Phil has climbed twenty-four of the fifty state high points (highest mountain/ point in each state) with his two sons; their goal is to finish the rest.
CHRISTINE SANTONI, Cleveland OH, is a mom and triathlete who practices law on the side. Her dad practiced law in Philadelphia before moving the family in 1977 to Omaha to begin a twenty-five year teaching career at Creighton University. Christine finds it humbling to see the names of her dad’s dearest friends, students and colleagues from both Philadelphia and Omaha on the roster of Fellows.
HILDY M. SASTRE, Miami FL, was raised in Miami and can’t imagine living anywhere else, but then she was never known for imagination. Her free time is spent boating, diving, and fishing with her husband and their teenaged sons. She is also an avid cyclist and cross fitter. And most recently, perhaps in the midst of a mid-life crisis (or maybe mid-life revolution) she started riding a motorcycle, which, as we all know, is great for managing stress and clearing the mind.
THOMAS P. SCRIVO, Cedar Grove NJ, did a brief stint in public service as Chief Counsel to Governor Chris Christie, but returned to trial work as soon as possible. A few years back, he and his partner endowed a Trial Advocacy Workshop at Seton Hall Law School and named it after their Civil Trial Advocacy professor. The workshop is an intense two-week experience in which students are taught by some of the region’s finest trial lawyers, culminating with mock trials before federal judges in the District of New Jersey.
PAT SEALEY, Sioux City IA, has run forty-two marathons in forty-one states and intends to do all fifty states; but his plan for retirement is to walk, not run, the Appalachian Trail. [Well, actually, Pat’s submission said he plans to hike the Appalachian
Trial – that’s right, Trial, not Trail. So we’re not completely certain what the plan is.]
COLM ST. ROCH SEVIOUR, K.C., St. John’s NL, is an avid skier and tennis player. He has skied all over the world, including the Swiss and French Alps, the American and Canadian Rockies and Coast Mountains. He is a member of the Newfound- land and Labrador Tennis Hall of Fame.
EMMA SISTI, Concord NH, has run four marathons, including Chicago and Boston. But that’s nothing compared to the summer she was pregnant with her third child and had five jury trials. Emma is president of the local youth lacrosse league and coaches K/1/2 grade boys as they begin playing the game. Emma’s dad is a Fellow of the College.
REBECCA B. SNUKAL, K.C., Calgary AB, grew up singing in synagogue choirs and bands. Her son is a talented hockey player and her daughter is a talented figure skater, so if not in a courtroom Rebecca is likely freezing at an ice rink. At one time she represented the Banff Rapist, the Beltline rapist, and the Canmore rapist all at the same time. In 2021, she started a foundation named Franny’s Fund, that raises money for families that require urgent assistance as a result of domestic violence and child abuse.
WILLIAM M. TOLES, Dallas TX, looks really comfortable in a bow tie and serves on the Board of Directors for the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association
