Makenna Christensen Software Marketing Coordinator ALC Logistics, a division of Allen Lund Company La Canada, CA Background: La Canada born and raised, in 2018 I decided to study nursing at Marquette University. It took me one day to change my mind. Living in Wisconsin was a bit of an adjustment as it hit -50 degree windchill my first winter, but I persisted. In May 2022, after graduating with a BS in Marketing and Human Resources, I decided to move home. I applied to ALC with no experience in produce or supply chain, but knew it had a good reputation and was actively involved in the local community. After some research I was surprised to learn that the building I drove past daily was actually the headquarters of a pretty large company and soon applied. I started working at ALC Logistics in July 2022 as a software marketing/sales coordinator. FPFC Connection: Shortly after I started at ALC Logistics, my boss Kenny Lund was asked to speak to apprentices at the 2022 FPFC roundtable. I had the opportunity to participate in the session and learned so much. It was Kenny who recommended the program when applications opened this year. Fun Fact: I love learning and have a passion for history (I actually minored in it). In my free time, you can find me with family and friends, binging a good documentary, playing with my dogs, or watching a good college football game (basketball, if Marquette’s playing). 13
