  PRESIDENT’S
PERSPECTIVE
William J. Murphy
  Dear Fellows:
With the first month of 2024 behind us, the College is anticipating a pivotal year as we chart a course toward the identification of new goals and the realization of long-an- ticipated plans. Among these endeavors is the development of a comprehensive Strategic Plan, a crucial initiative that promises to guide the future of our institution. Additionally, a website redesign is now underway, integral to our overall technology roadmap.
At the upcoming Board of Regents meeting in February, we will be presented with initial findings from our consulting partners, McKinley Advisors. McKinley has spent the past few months gathering data from the Leadership Workshop, small- group interviews, and a survey of Fellows conducted this past December. Through these efforts to reach out to the entire Fel- lowship for input, our aim is to identify the most pressing issues that concern you about the future of the College.
We have scheduled a strategic planning retreat for this sum- mer, which marks the next pivotal phase in our strategic planning process. With the active participation of the Board of Regents, Past Presidents and the Strategic Planning Task Force, we will delve deeper into the challenges and priorities identified by our Fellows. This will ensure that our strate- gic decisions are rooted in a thorough understanding of the concerns and aspirations of our Fellowship.
In parallel, the College is embarking on a redesign of the College’s website. Working with a technology consultant, Ellipsis Partners, we sought input from Fellows to complete a thorough assessment of the current website. Our goal was to pinpoint areas that can be improved, ranging from us- er-friendliness to functionality and purpose. The initial phase
of the website redesign has just begun, and the College’s On- line Advisory Committee will be working with the National Office Staff and a web design firm in the coming months.
These initiatives collectively underscore our commitment not only to adapt to evolving technological advances, but also to shape the College’s role in the future of our profes- sion and the achievement of our mission. In a world buzzing with concerns about AI, rapidly evolving technology, and the impact of a global shift to remote work, we trust that these actions will position the College as a forward-thinking organization. Embracing change while cherishing our tradi- tions, we are actively preparing to meet the evolving needs of our Fellows. Our strategic approach should ensure that we are not only prepared to navigate the challenges ahead, but also to leverage opportunities for growth and innovation.
And I hope to see many of you at our upcoming Spring Meeting in Phoenix. The venue is fabulous and Presi- dent-Elect Rick Deane has assembled an outstanding group of presenters to address our General Sessions.
