CATHARINE GARBEE GRIFFIN, Columbia SC, has run nineteen marathons, eight of them the Boston Marathon.
DANA GRIMES, San Diego CA, our inductee responder, loves to paint and, before she became a lawyer, painted portraits of people for weddings and gifts. Dana has a black belt in tae-kwon-do and was on the UCLA tae-kwon-do team.
JEAN-PHILIPPE GROLEAU, Montreal QB, modestly describes himself as a “punk-rocking basketball player turned lawyer, with a passion for hoops, adventure, and sometimes stumbling into more chaos than he bargained for.” Uh, huh. Watch his YouTube video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BPoTDbujhg if you ever have trouble sleeping.
LESLIE PRECHTL GUY, Binghampton NY, has hiked/biked in Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, Argentina (Patagonia, Mendoza, Buenos Aires) and Quebec Province Canada (Petit Train du Nord) with her husband, a judge. The elbow fracture from the Slovenia trip was just a minor set- back. Leslie and the judge have four children of whom they are equally proud, but one caught our eye – the one who is the director of marketing for Peanuts Worldwide.
ALEX J. HAGAN, Raleigh NC, moved to a small village in Kenya to teach high school English, East African History, and Business after graduating from college. Thirty-one years and law school later, he returned with his wife and three children, where he reconnected with former students and fellow teachers. Alex is a recovered triathlete and marathoner who now dis- tracts himself with mountain biking and flyfishing with his son.
HEATHER L. HANSEN, Toronto ON, does family law and mostly represents high net worth clients but has an active pro-bo- no practice involving child related matters. Fittingly, she proudly proclaims that she shares her home with a husband and two children she doesn’t describe and a rescue dog she does describe as “loveable.”
JOHN HARBIN, Atlanta GA, has always earned his keep with commercial litigation, with a focus on patent litigation, but he has been very active in pro bono work, including death penalty work; federal defender conflicts work, handling a class action concerning the juvenile detention center in Cobb Co., GA, cases on human trafficking, and chairing the Board of the
Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation. For fun, John likes to make himself miserable playing golf.
TERRI HARRIS, West Lake Hills TX, grew up a military brat – her dad was a Vietnam era flight surgeon. Terri practiced as a physician assistant before law school. She has two daughters, one a professional soccer player and the other Manager of Media Strategy for US Soccer. Despite all that success, Terri is a recovering Tab addict.
