Declaring “The American College of Trial Lawyers School of Law is now in session,” we were lucky to have two visiting professors who are among the leading constitutional legal scholars in the country. Our lesson plan for the day was to debate the question: What role does Originalism actually play in U.S. Supreme Court Constitutional litigation?
Professor Michael Ramsey is the Warren Distinguished Professor of Law and the Director of International and Com- parative Law Program at the University of San Diego School of Law. He went to Dartmouth and Stanford law school. He clerked in the Ninth Circuit for Judge Clifford Wallace and on the U.S. Supreme Court for Justice Scalia. Professor Ramsey has lectured in Australia, Denmark, France, Kuwait, Mexico, South Africa, and South Korea.
