FOUNDATION UPDATE
This year’s Emil Gumpert Award went to the Early Eviction Mediation program in Hawaii, which has achieved a remark- able record of success with 90% of the tenants participating in the Program being permitted to remain in their rental units. The state funding for the Program, which was estab- lished in the wake of the pandemic, has expired. The Gumpert Award is intended to keep this highly successful Program alive until additional state or private funding can be secured.
