Stephanie Salas Sales and Procurement Manager Veg-Fresh Farms Corona, CA Background: I was born and raised in Montebello, CA, and I now call Rancho Cu- camonga, CA, home. Beginning my career as a lead supervisor and assistant manager at two fast-food chains, I discovered my passion for the supply chain, particularly in sourcing fresh produce. This passion led me to pursue a role in the fresh industry, and in 2016, I began my journey at Veg-Fresh as a driver check-in associate. Over the course of six years, I advanced to the position of sales assistant before being promoted to sales and procurement manager, where I’ve proudly served for the past two years. FPFC Connection: During my time in driver check-in, I first encountered the FPFC when I assisted in delivering trade show samples for marketing. The excitement surrounding the event piqued my interest, laying the foundation for involve- ment in industry events. Upon transitioning to sales, I attended my first FPFC expo in 2023. There, I had the opportunity to connect with both existing and potential customers. It was a fun and vibrant atmosphere. Last year, I also participated in the August and December FPFC luncheons, as well as Top Golf, and outside trade shows such as the International Fresh Produce Association show and the Organic Produce Summit. I learned about the FPFC Apprentice Program from two former gradu- ates, Jessica Garcia and Fernando Tellez, who spoke highly of their experiences. They emphasized the benefits gained from the program, including valuable knowledge and lasting friendships. Motivated by my passion for the produce industry and my desire to expand my knowledge, I was inspired to apply for the program. Encouragement from Dino Cancellieri Jr., a partner at Veg Fresh Farms, further solidified my decision. Fun Fact: Outside of work, my priorities are my 10-year-old daughter and my family. My daughter was born a micro preemie weighing just shy of a pound. Her journey has been incredible and embodies strength and inspires me daily. When not at work or with family, you’ll find me staying active, working out, traveling, and supporting my favorite sports teams—the LA Dodgers and SF 49ers. I’ve also developed a talent for crafting gourmet chocolate desserts, which I create for special occasions and small orders. Being the oldest of four siblings, I take pride in fostering strong family connections. 10
